Writing
I am a writer of short and longer fiction, inspired by family and wider histories to create stories of hope and resistance.
I have a master’s degree in creative writing from De Montfort University.

‘This beast stalks my womb, and gives no quarter’
Pregnant and alone, Agnes is afraid of the creature that grows in her body. On a freezing night in January 1569, her fears become fact. As Agnes and her monster’s fame grow, so does her need to protect those she loves most.
‘The Woman Who Gave Birth to a Cat’ is inspired by Tudor era events that took place in the town of Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
“We know we are in the hands of an author in full, and nuanced, control of their craft – and that’s an exciting place to be.”
Simon Perril, Director of DMU Creative Writing
